Title: what is your favour layout for synthetic lane ?
Post by: lane1lover on July 15, 2005, 05:26:15 AM
what is your favourite layout for synthetic lane :

bomb core (cherry bomb, dirty bomb) ?

diamond core (uranium) ?

I found the high pin 5 X 4 layout is skid too much and label drill is better for bomb core but diamond core is vice versa.  for me, my pap is 5 1/2 and 1" up as a high tracker

My favorite so far is 4.5X4.5. Pin next to the ring finger also stacked.
I get a good reaction and great recovery. Nice smooth HARD ARC. Once it goes... it goes. I just have to adjust my line to flush it.

It has been well documented that I totally despise "label leverage" type drills where the pin is closer to the PAP than teh cg BUT on synthetics I totally disagree......

MY 2 favorite drills on synthies are 3-3/8 x5 and 2x4. Here's why....

These drills get the ball into an arcing motion as opposed to a rev and flip or a hook set type drill.

The 2x4 drilling was on an Emerald Buzzsaw and a Black Cherry Bomb.

The 3-3/8 x 5 is on a Pioneer.

I tend to struggle with stacked and cg out drills on synthetics. I am not sure why I struggle with those drills but I do :-)

There is no cut and dried answer because it depends on the lane surface (not all synthetics have the same coefficient of friction, PLUS they change as they age.) and it depends on the oil type, the oil amount AND the oil pattern. They are constantly introducing new brand sand types of oil.

If you think you have it nailed down now, wait til you hit the next oil pattern. You'll change your mind, yet again!

I agree with Hussman

I love the stacked drilling.  I prefer to have the ball drilled strong and I make the adjustments

My favorite Drill for synthetics, is if Heavy oil 3 3/8 stacked label, light to medium oil 12 o'clock drill pin up. Now if it's a sport condition stacked label or simple label pin next to ring finger c.g. in the palm. That's when i get my swag on.......>>>>>>>>>>>>THERE IS ONLY LANE #1.
