Title: What Lane #1 ball shares the AI coverstock?
Post by: J_Mac on April 17, 2006, 10:46:23 AM
Just wondering what ball from Lane #1 has the same, or similar coverstock to the Absolute Inferno?

Well heck... maybe I'll just go with Mo-Rich seeing as they don't tamper with the Brunswick coverstocks as much.

If your opinion of these balls is coming from what you've seen on TV, I'm sorry...

I believe feel free to correct me if i am wrong onthese:

Lane 1 dirty bomb pearl

morich shock and awe

awesome flip

brunswick vapor zone

imo since it looks the same as my vapor zone cover exact no matter what lane 1 claims the cobalt. They have a fancy coverstock name but it handles oil almost exactly the same and just flips stronger and longer on the backend.

beg to differ, Mo does tinker with the coverstocks

I said AS MUCH... I know Mo has his own ideas on particles and what not...

I always heard the Shock & Awe was Activator+. I never heard anyone say it was original Activator.

I'm pretty sure that the Shock and Awe and the Absolute Inferno used the same coverstock, Activator+, finished the same way.

But then I've always wonderd what the "+" was in Activator+, expecially since Activator+ was slightly stronger than Activator. After reading about some Lane#1 coverstocks being "Activator + PowerKoil 18" and having a Brunswick rep confirm that PK18 is stronger overall that Activator, I'm beginning to wonder if the "+" isn't PK18 that is being added to Activator to create "Activator+".

maybe it's Activator + AR (the coverstock on the Raging Red Fuze, aka PK 18 with more midlane traction in oil)
