Dynamo is smoother and the AO is more angular. Both handle oil well.

The dynamo has been very hit and miss with a lot of people.  I for one HATED that ball.  I literally didn't matter how much oil was on the lane, being that dry or flood or in the middle somewhere, it moved 5 boards.  Plugged and drilled with a different layout and the same thing, only 6 boards this time! Spoke with a few people and they had the same thing happen to them with this ball.

As for the AO I think it is a better ball, for me at least, then the dynamo.  But in all honesty I think if you are set on a heavy oil ball from lane 1 I would look into the Red Death!!!  Ball looks like a real winner!

red death or dynamo

everyone seems to neglect the fact that the AO is a pearl, it will be great right off the bad, but carry down makes it squirrly

I can interchange either the red death or the dynamo for oil

The Dynamo wil be a little more predictable if you have a higher rev rate while the Red Death is a killer for the slow roller/ stroker type guys.

Your pro shop guy (or gal) will be able to make either work for you since he (or she) will know your style and what has worked for you in the past.

I drilled my Dynamo too strong and the ball flared like 8" or something silly like that. I never did get it matched up the way I wanted. The X-2 I have is the same way...too strong for one type of shot but not enough to play another line. I am still experimenting here.

With the amount of oil my Red Death can handle at 200 grit + polish and it's extremely weak drilling (6x5) I think that should be in the forefront of anyone's choice looking for an oil ball.

I would suggest consulting a Lane 1 rep though if you decide on the Red Death and your driller has not drilled any before. Drillings that should be very strong and hard reacting end up being pretty weak. I have a Massacre with a 4" stacked layout that barely moves. My 6x5 pin up Red Death comes off the corener like a train. The Blue death I just drilled is a 5-1/4 x 4 pin under bridge and it too turns off the spot with whiplash like motion. CG outs used to be even and arcy...no so on the Massacore balls.....
