Any fool that buys this ball is getting ripped off by Mr. Sposato and he is laughing all the way to the bank.
I cannot believe you guys would pay over $160.00 for old, rehashed technology.
Same old 15 year old weight block with same old 15 year old super-flex coverstock from BSAF.
Oh that's right it has the special, super duper, patented diamond block that is a proven winner on the pro bowlers tour with more titles than any other ball in the history of bowling and all the world's top bowlers swear by Lane # 1 and their innovative techniology.
At least Brunswick is not ripping people off with the Avalanche solid that uses the old Teal Rhino block from 15 years ago with PowrKoil18 that was on the Danger Zones from what about 10-12 years ago and they are selling online for less than $90.00 shipped!

I have the old Teal and I can understand bringing this ball back. I'm sure it won't be identical to the old Teal, but the old technoligy will help even on the more difficult oil patterns even though it is touted as a THS ball. The orginal Teal was controllable but not weak and the coverstock was very versatile. Again if its like the old Tel, it won't be a hook monster but it won't get you in trouble either. Oil nd oil patterns has changed so much through the years its hard to say how the new Teal will hold up on todays condition but as I mentioned, I still have the old Teal polished with Bean's Secret Sauce and the lane conditions locally are allowing me to use this ball more and more.

I had pretty much written Lane#1 off primarily because since the introduction of the bomb cores, I haven't matched up very well with anything (Cherry Bomb, Black Cherry, Tsunami, Hybrid DB, Carbide+), but secondarily because of their ridiculous claims and some of the ignorants who blindly support those claims. However, I have always liked and matched up well with the original diamond core (and variations there of.. c, c2), so will probably give the retro teal a shot. Not at $160... but maybe a few months down the road when everyone is dumping their old stock on eBay for $70-$80.

$160 dollars for a retro ball is a little much agreed but if those of us who are willing to pay the price, who's to say if its worth it or not until we throw it. Might not be worth that to someone at any cost and if the ball compared to the price of other retros, they would probbly sell a higher volume, but its Lane 1 and their prices are high whether we like it or not.

For clarification, the Carbide+ is the c2 core.
I've also had mixed results with 'modified' bomb cores. I could never get comfortable with the Dirty Bombs. In any case, the Bomb cores make up only a small portion of Lane#1 offerings.

Ah, the heart of your disdain. Still, if a piece works well (as the majority of Lane#1's do), this seems to be a silly reason to not use a brand. I guess you're OK with Brunswick feeding you all that sunshine about original Fury, and then finding out it wasn't close to being up to snuff.

Well good. You haven't lost all your sense.

Yes... the reason I purchased the Carbide+ was solely because of the C2 core. I just don't think the cover was very good on it. I purchased a Fury and found the ball to be very strong. I sanded mine down to 100 grit for Reno nationals last year and to was way too much ball (previous years I had trouble getting reaction there). Just to be able to use it locally, I kept it at 2000 - 4000 grit and polished most of the time. With the retro core/cover, I think it will be something that you can drill strong, polish it up, and still use on most mediums.

Doug, I could be wrong, but I think it is close to 1 1/2 years and maybe a bit more as I bought my last Brunswick poured ball, a Solid Cobalt Bomb the first of January of 2007 and they had already quit pouring Lane 1 balls.

You are probably closer to correct Jim. The Carbide + and the SOlid COablt Bomb were the last 2 balls Brunswick poured and, it may be a sheer coincidence, but they seemed to be 2 of teh LEAST liked LAne 1's of all time...go figure.

I'll agree, I never liked the Solid Cobalt. But the C+ is one of my all time favorites....

That is true Zeus...the C+ is a decent ball but the production balls were nothing like thetest balls Richie got from Brunswick. The production balls were SIGNIFICANTLY weaker that their test counterparts.
