Tsunami Finish
« on: February 07, 2006, 10:51:30 PM »
What surface has everyone been having their best luck with on the tsunami?  Factory says that its highly polished...  Any guess to the grit of that?  I inherited mine with roughly 800 grit matte... but would like to return it back to factory.

Thanks,

Looks pretty nice, you might want to hit Triggerman with that same question. Unfortunately I don't own one YET. But I do know who to ask

That looks close to the ones I have seen in my local pro shops. Maybe a little less pressure on the polish but very close

cool...  I actually used 800 grit and ebonite factory finish... so assuming it should be close.

I've been throwing mine in box condition, and it does the job for me.

Wow...  I threw the tsunami a few shots to start the night and through the first game.  The reaction was SO WEAK that I was forced to play the extreme outside of the lane to find enough dry for any sort of reaction...one shot I tugged inside a little (hit 7 board instead of 4) and missed the pocket right!  After the first game, I switched to my shock & awe, moved 15 boards left and had all sorts of area...  I was surprised as to how little reaction I had with it on a relatively easy medium-heavy oil shot.  Now I see why the ball was dull when I received it!  Guess I'm going to run it through the rejuvenator and take the surface back to the 800 grit - 1000 grit matte finish.
