And with which drill??
-
The Bomb cores seem to be more angular. I'd say the Dirty Bomb.

The answer is Enriched Uranium at 77 backend hook rating. Below is the complete list.
SCB = 60
EU = 77
SU = 60
HDB = 76
BCB = 67.5
U = 63.75
Tsu = 56
DB = 63.75
H2O = 52.5
Bullet = 27.5
XXXL = 15

My EU doesn't have near as much backend as my Dirty Bomb.

The formula is:
backend hook rating = total Hook rating x percentage on backend
Numbers were taken from Lane #1 tech Data.

It's possible. I know the ratings say other wise, but it's will still depend all on how the ball is drilled and what type of bowler you are.

Tsunami H2O
Super Carbide Bomb
Teal Buzzsaw
Purple Buzzsaw
Ebonite Zebra 4

Roy, the Hybrid is a BE of 80, not 76, while the EU is at 70, so the Nybrid has a bigger backend than the EU, with the Dirty Bomb is at 85%.

Actually HDB has a hook rating of 95 and 80% is retained for backend therefore
HDB = 95 x .80 = 76 backend hook
EU has hook rating of 110 and 70% is retained for backend and thus:
EU = 110 x .70 = 77 backend hook

what about the Golden Nugget

It has a hook rating of 75 but no data for backend hook percentage.

If I am not mistaken the paper that was sent out with them said the backend % was 80.

If it's 75n hook rating with 80% retained at backend, then
GN = 75 x .80 = 60

The pearl carbide bomb had the biggest backend of any buzzsaw I have thrown!!
And I have thrown most of them!!

I can't argue with that since I don't have any data for it nor have I thrown it. The calculations made earlier are for the current balls that Lane 1 carries.

Click here so you can see from the Lane#1 website.
http://lane1bowling.com/tech/hook.html
The Hybrid dirty bomb and Dirty bomb both boast more back end potential, which to the break point makes it appear to have more total turn, and angle to the pocket
However, though the Super Carbide Bomb and Enriched both have more over all hook potential that the dirty bomb's, it is easy to get confused on the visualzation of back end movement, versus what is hard to see as a ball turns and sets up on the midlane... this too is considered to be part of the total hook.
So in conclusion, you have back end reaction vs total lane reaction.
Its up to the observer to decide what one is looking for.
-
If you can still get one the Golden Nugget has a ton of backend.

What I really meant to say
Is I'm sorry for the way I am
I never meant to be so cold
never meant to be so cold

the most fun i had fun with is the cherry bomb even tho it isnt in production anymore but goes real long and snaps hard on the right backend. drilled stacked leverage
--------------------
doesnt look like im in kansas anymore toto
-
When talking about just backend, I really don't think anyone can argue, that the Cherry bomb has the hardest snap out of them all. But good luck finding one new. This ball still hits like a tank for me.

Ok guys, I know what the website says but it isn't always right due to drilling layouts etc... What I want to know is what ball that you have has the most backend for you. I know the Hybrid is supposed to have more than the Uranium but I can tell you that my Uranium has way more backend than my hybrid, a little less overall hook but more backend.
-
I have the Hybrid and let me say that ball turns and turns HARD. Mine's drilled with pin 3 3/4" away from PAP, pin below ring and this ball still has a very strong arc and carries great as long as I dont go too high. I have a Backyard Bully drilled with a 4" pin-pap, pin way above bridge, and the Hybrid covers at least 5-6 boards more than the BYB on the backend. Might be a bit biased as it's my only Lane1, but it sure does have a big backend. Give it room, and it will come back

-
All things considered here has been my tactile and empirical data:
All balls drilled with 5-1/2 x 3-1/2 (or very close) and thrown on the same house pattern.
1. Dirty Bomb
2. Silver Diamond
3. Enriched Uranium
4. Pearl Uranium
5. Cherry C2
6. Cherry Bomb Pearl
7. Polished Super Carbide
If Lane 1 wanted to make a HUGE backending ball they need the Golden Nugget core inside the Dirty Bomb coverstock.
Again not saying it's an absolute but this is what I have seen....

I have to agree with Doug about the Silver Diamond. Mine had the biggest backend of any ball I have ever owned. It was highly polished.

I threw most of Lane 1's bowling balls except for the H20. I was told the H2O had a tremendous back end. I've read it in some of the reviews as well. I'll get mine this week and I'll be able to test it myself. The Lane 1 ball that had the most back end for me was the Silver Diamond. The Enriched is very strong on the back end as well.
