The nearest I can tell to the SD is either the H2O, or the Enriched Uranium, at least for me.  There may be some others that will have other suggestions or opinions, but that is my story and I'm sticking to it.

There really is no ball to compare to the sd that lane 1 has out now, Your talking about the c/2 core with what i think was pk17 to give it more length, todays covers are totally different, Retro

Actually your talking about  /c  not a c/2 core for one mini diamond and Pk18 pearlized for more leangth and the closest ball would be a h20 the enriched isn't in the same neighborhood.

I agree with Trigger here...the Cobalt is the strongest ball on the backend since the Dirty Bomb and the Dirty was the strongest since the Silver Diamond.

Now of course that comes with a disclaimer....assuming that the conditions are ones where you should be using a pearl resin ball....

The Pearl Cherry Bomb for me and others was 100% backend and I have never seen a ball hook more on the back than the pearl cherry.

the way my H2O is drilled, backend isnt sharp at all.

glides through the heads and rolls up in the midlane and arcs to the pocket.

sweetest and smoothest reaction ive ever seen out of a pearl

here it is ---> H2O (http://"http://members.fortunecity.com/megamav/bowling/html/h2o.htm")

H2O is my guess. I do not have a SD to compare it to, but the flare potential on both is 4" (although, so is the Tsunami). With the Cobalt having a 7" flare potential, I can see it being ALOT stronger than a SD. Of course, drilling will play a big factor in all of this. I have my H2O drilled 4x4 stacked, and it is a strong, but smooth reaction (when the lanes are right for it). My Cobalt (drilled 5x5) on the same conditions will outhook the H2O by a ton! I wish I had more of the older balls to compare. I really like toying with different covers and drill patterns.

The ball with the biggest backend by far was the Cherry Pearl C/2, and those who have or had them can relate, I still have 3 of these and it would outhook my silver diamond that i had by a good 3-4 boards

It's patented diamond core has now been surrounded with a silver diamond, pearlized reactive cover stock. The first pearlized Buzzsaw goes long & Hits hard!!

For bowlers not in need of a 16lb. ball, Lane #1's 14 & 15 lighter weight Buzzsaws come fully packed with the 16lb. ball core, power boosting these light-weights for optimum performance. This feature available first & only from Lane #1.

Specs are:
Cover Stock: Resinator Reactive Urethane
Core: High Differential Mini Diamond within Diamond
Hook Ratio 20+
Flare Potential: 5"+
Pin Placement: 12 o'clock 1-4" out
Construction: 4 piece
Hardness: 75-78 D-Scale
Finish: Highly Polished
Increased Dynamics: 15-14 lbs
Available wieghts: 14 - 16 lbs.

http://www.lane1bowling.com/balls/silver.html

These are the specs on here under the reviews section for the SD, If you go on lane 1's site under retired balls, you have the specs of the reproduced SD's, The theory of the originals being a tad stronger would hold true based on hook ratings, the original had resinator reactive and the remake was pk18, What is the diff?
