Which Saw?
« on: February 12, 2006, 04:42:58 AM »
Customer of mine (may have seen previous post in misc section) is looking for a new ball and wants to try out a saw.  He is a low-track "spinner", probably 17-18mph and 250 rpms...  based upon the track worn into one of his older balls, I calculated his PAP to be roughly 4 1/8 over 1/2 down.  His current ball is a Trifecta layed out with a 3 3/8" pin even with fingers, MB strong position w/ a weight hole.  Because of his style, the trifecta gets pretty decent length on most conditions, and a small-ish arc on the backend.  He's looking for something to start up a little earlier and be able to handle a little more oil (or cover a few more boards).  Based of past experience, high load particle balls don't seem to agree with him (bad luck with fuze detonator and more recently AMB particle).  Maybe the solid U?  Black cherry bomb?  What does everyone think?  How about a layout?

Thanks,
S^2

The Black Cherry Bomb sounds like the ticket Pin above and just right of ring finger and CG stacked really strong ball.may need a huge weight hole on pap to tame it down a bit mine did ball has a vicious hit with that layout

Sounds good...  My "gut" instinct was a SCB, but being a particle ball, I just wouldn't be able to sell him.. so next best would be the Solid U...
Thanks U2...
