Title: Why are they not on tour?
Post by: Shoutout33 on October 19, 2003, 08:46:28 PM
Ok.  You all here on the forums (and you two Mr. Clump. ), believe in the Buzzsaws so much, I was just compelled to want to try their equipment when I started bowling again. Oh, just for the record, I want a Black Cherry Bomb, Raspberry C/2 or Blueberry C/2, Silver Diamond, and a XXXL for Christmas! (Note: As soon as I find a oil spill here in the DC Metro area, I'll get a Super Carbide Bomb to clean it up!)

Ok, enough silliness. I had a chance to speak to Mr. Buzzsaw himself, man is he a cool customer, and I got to hear first hand how he feels about his product and his thoughts on how to promote it as well. Some of it I understand, some of it I don't. I honestly think that his stuff is good enough to be on tour but why is it that some pros won't use it...other than Mike or Rudy of course. If it's that good, how come the pro's haven't jumped on the band wagaon? Now, I know there are a lot of guys who are sponsored already, but there are plenty who aren't.

For example, has anyone on this forum taken their Saws to any major mega-buck competitions? If so, how did you do? Don't get me wrong, I like the other manufacturers too, but hell, if Storm can start as a new company and then take off like it's done, why can't anyone else. Don't you just love a competitive market! If he could get his stuff on the tour more often, don't you think it would help with sells?

Well, whatever happens, I know I want to throw a Buzzsaw and I found a proshop that sells them in my area at some very competitive prices, even with drilling and inserts. So, as soon as I get some money (and my Baby's permission...), I'm gonna drop some cash so I can go cut down some pins!

PS: Real quick question. Which would you prefer as your benchmark ball: The Cranberry or the Blueberry? Thanks in advance people.

Blueberry, because it is one of the most versatile balls out there. Maybe not, but I think the major portion of the Saw Bowlers will agree with me here.

In the old days, they used axes to chop up wood...Nowadays, they use "BUZZSAWS".

Until I buy a Cranberry, the Blueberry is my selection for a benchmark product.  Looks like the Cranberry will hook a little more, a little later.  To me, that's a "house specific" differential.

Not all great shots result in strikes and not all strikes are great shots.

From what I remember from the PBA.
When a new ball is released it is offered to the membership first.
The biggest drawback was their prices compared to say Ebonite or Storm.
Lane#1's stuff was usually $30-50 more than these other companies.
So a lot of regional guys wouldn't buy them and would stick to less priced equipment.
