« on: April 09, 2004, 11:39:28 PM »
Hey, I have always wanted to try a lane #1. But, because they cost so much I have never felt the need to spend that much money on a ball. Could someone explain why they cost so much??? Lane 1 is expensive because they don't manufacture their equipment. THey make the cores, ship them to brunswick, and brunswick pours the coverstocks around them. Cost also is greatly determined by pro shops. Some will sell you Buzzsaws for $250-$300 which is nuts. In other shops like 10th Frame Pro Shop in Spartanburg, South Carolina, run by FRank Spada (cheap plug) you can get them much lower. Go to his site 10thframeproshop.com, prices aren't listed, but a toll free number is. He will give you good pricing. I've been buying saws from him for around 3 years.

BD300,
This has been argued a MILLION times here are on this site. If you don't think that they're better DON'T buy one. It's that simple.  You don't want help you want to start an argument.

I really dont want an arguement. I was just curious. I dont read these forums that often. I am usually only in sales and misc. I am still more of a beginner in bowling and was curious. Sorry if my curiousity caused any probs. Kyle

Kyle,
No problems, it's just an issue that has gone round and round a million freakin' times. If you're curious set your preferences to 120 days or the past year and search through the Lane #1 forum.  You'll see this issue spun around from both sides many, many times.

You can't beat Doug Sterners price's. Especially drilled out the door, with grips, and slugs....

I personally, do not understand everyones detesting of Lane 1 for their price. I think it is justified. They do not YET have their own manafacturing equipent, if they could price it less, they would.
