I can't seem to get anything through the mids by 3rd game lately except my plastic and it just isn't quite strong enough. If I bought a XXXL put some surface on it and drill it strong, how much more hook should I see a compared to my white dot?

My XXXL hooks about the same as my WD, maybe a little more on the back, but carries much better. The XXXL hits harder on shots leaked right and having to come back a long way and shots that are tugged a little with no angle. Good shots are about the same. My brother just shot 800 with it a few weeks ago. Shoots 800 with a reactive, 3 weeks later shoots 8 with the XXXL and the next week shoots 780's with the Liberator.

Thanks thats kinda what I figured. I was thinking sanding it to like 2000 or 1000 too anyone try this?

I have 2 plastics in my tourney bag...my white dot for a true spare ball and my XXXL sanded to 1000 with Resurrection. THe layout is 4x4 with low weighthole on the VAL.

The XXXL gets thru the heads so well, then rolls strong iin the mids due tothe layout but does not turn sideways on the backend due to the coverstock. It most definitely does not hit like a plastic. I have had people ask me where I found an original Buzzsaw in such good shape...heheheheh.

Of the XXXL's in existence, the Crystal will hook least, the black will hook the most and the red and Starbursts are pretty close to the same.

If you are looking for a Starburst, I have a 1-2" pin ball here that I will cut you a greatdeal on.

A guy on my team has a XXXL long pin drilled CG out for torched lanes sanded to 1000 and he does quite well with it

Exactly. I had a red XXXL. The difference was all in the midlane, the backend motion was just a continuation of that. With dry mids you're going to have some problems taking out the 10 pin if you throw your normal 1st ball type release with it.

I'm going to test a theory on my next one...essentially drill it lefty. I figure that will keep it straight on everything but the conditions where anything's going to hook anyway...and on those conditions, it will have a stronger motion.
