Title: Your Favorite Saw
Post by: slumpp on July 04, 2011, 12:33:29 PM
Ok, rather than hi-jack another thread I thought I would start one. What is your favorite buzzsaw, the one that is in your bag no matter what, the one you have the most confidence in.
For me, I loved the C2 Cherry Pearl, on synthetic lanes I thought there was no comparision. But I to say my money saw is a Super Carbide Bomb. Either polished, or dulled out with a scotch bright pad it handles everything the lane can send its way.

3 city titles in three years tells me it has to be the Carbide C solid, but 2 300 games in a matter of a couple of weeks puts the XP up there too
right now my get out of jail free ball is the Black fire, but this new Chainsaw SOS might just surpass them all

I've had a number of the newer saws but the only one I still have is the Original Chainsaw that I got from Doug Sterner. Yes Doug, I still have it and I don't go anywhere without it.
I'm stoked for the SOS, I just need to sell some stuff I have laying around before I can put the money down on one.

After switching to Ebonite Balls and raising my average 18 pins with them, I no longer carry a Saw in my bag, but if I were limited to Saws only, my all time favorites and second to none are the Solid Cobalt Bomb and Blue Death Massacare. Those 2 balls seemed to really match up to me extremely well and I really loved both of those balls.

JLS, you never cease to amaze. After all the "Ball of the Year" stuff, I never would have thought you'd say something nice about the Dynamo. Unless, of course, you're just kidding.
I have to say the Dynamo and Dynamo X2 are probably my favorites. I still use them both. I shot 2 300's in a league set with the X2 last year. I have a second X2 in storage for when X2 #1 bites the dust. I hope Lane#1 re-releases the core at some point.

Haven't checked the rule book this year, but were they going to widen the lanes the extra 10 boards this year, cant really throw one if they dont.
More hooking ball = higher scores on every condition!

Good Times: Bring the surface up and burn in a little polish, and you can get away without having those 10 extra boards.
Who know, you might actually like it!!!

What did you end up shooting the back to back 300 set?

It wasn't back-to-back. I went 300-224-300.
I remember striking the first 3 frames of the second game. But the lanes were starting to transition big time towards a more inside line, and I was too stubborn to make the appropriate adjustments. I tried compensating with more speed, and started pinging 10 pin after 10 pin.
I got my head out of my rear and got lined up again near the end of that second game. It didn't really hit me what was happening until I got the first 9 strikes of the third game. The nerves started kicking in but I was able to hold it together and finish out with the second 300.
Don't know if the stars will align just the right way for that kind of night to happen again.

I've pretty much given away all of my L#1 stuff except for the Carbide/C which I hung on to for longer/oiler patterns.
They had the Mexico city pattern out last night and the ball......was a real turd..
Struggled in the oil and never turned the corner. Went straigher at the pocket and the ball hit like a wet noodle. Shot an anazing 135 with it before I bagged it and went with the Rattler..
My Fav? Well, it's the one I traded away 5 years a ago for a UI..the BCB..

My favorite saw is a toss up between the Table Saw and the Two-Man Saw.
