3 - 1 = 2
« on: August 19, 2006, 07:46:50 AM »
I got my heavy rolling strong oiler - Terminator.  Still need 2 more.
I need a true Medium oil ball and a medium light ball.
Was thinking, Big Bang, Kong or New Standard for medium and Buzz for light

Terminator
Big Bang
Buzz

or

Terminator
New Standard
Buzz

or

Terminator
Kong
Buzz

Any help?

Since we are buds again go with this order:

Terminator
Big Bang or World Class/R true mediums
Kong light mediums with carrydown
Straight Flush for fried heads

I have all of these the Buzz is good but Kong is the best light medium ball i have ever owned and since i have had at least 800 balls that is saying something.

First ball pin under ring finger and cg out at 45 degrees with a targeting weight hole inside my pap 2 inches. Setup by Adam Ishman a young up coming bowler and driller guru from K & K bowling he took 6 th place in the high roller and recommend me this ball for mediums with carrydown. Adam can set you with Kong that kicks i know you have a good driller but make sure he knows how to setup kong for long and strong like Adam does.

Adam came back from USBC Nationals told me theat kong was by far one of the best rolling balls he has ever watched, he consulted with a few legends staffers and then setup my ball. My Kong destroys lighter medium patterns with carrydown, in fact i took league high average and high series on my 1 st night using it.

I also have another Kong pin over ring and no weight hole good ball also but does not setup as well as the pin under ring ball does.

Was thinking:
Terminator - stacked
add - Big Bang - Pin below ring cg kicked out 45
add - Kong - Pin below ring cg kicked out 45
add - Buzz - Pin above and between finger, cg in palm 1/2 inch off center

So we got:
Terminator - heavy oil
Big Bang - medium - heavy
Kong - true medium to light
Buzz - playing deep inside ligh oil, when heads break down

What do you think?

Hand Of God, the Straight Flush is a good light oil ball.

yes i think that would be a good setup if more speed than rev dominant for using the buzz over the straight flush in the really light oil area. You will still need a plastic spare ball like the arrow or any really unless you can back up a ball.

Do not under estimate The Buzz i find it too useable when the kong is, so they overlap some. My Buzz is factory surface still like both of my Kongs are also, so being a pearl ball the buzz should shine up easy. I am only bowling 1 st shifts this year so i am not even going too try a shiny buzz or kong.

I never drill balls that only flare one inch....

I use the red XXXL by lane#1 for that.

To much trouble clipping finger holes with balls that don't flare.

mrbowlingnut .. Kong is medium load partical... doesn't that check up on medium light oil, as the track breaks down?

Shouldn't I use Kong for true Medium and Buzz for when I got to play deep, as heads burn out, since its a pure reactive cover?

kong stats do not equal what this ball really does, yes you can use it on medium oil but it shines when the pattern is breaking down and the carrydown is already there.

Oilers - Terminator, Yeah Baby, AP2, NS2

Medium - World Class, WC reactive, NS, Big Kahuna

Medium-light - KONG, Absolute Power, The BUZZ

As I've stated before, getting layouts that "match up" to your style AND the the condition that you want them for is cricial; if you can get the layout close and create a versitile ball, then it's simply a matter of "tweaking" the coverstocks and/or drilling a properly located balance hole.

very close but different the terminator for me has more backend than the big bang in 16 lb, in 15 lb my big bang is stronger in the backend reaction.
