What would this ball do polished up and drilled with a weak layout?
-
Depends on how you throw the ball ...
I have 2, a 15 with a 5" pin under the center of the bridge
and a 16 witha 4.5" pin under the ring finger. Both are sanded to 2000 grit and then have a medium high gloss polish on them. I use the 16 to handle carrydown on medium oiled Guardian Overlays. This past season I used the 15 to handle carrydown when my medium-light oil ball, another company's pearl resin couldn't make the turn because of carrydown.
I suppose if you put the pin above the bridge level, you should be able to handle medium-light oil.
If your rev rate is less than your ball speed (speed dominant), you can also use it for light oil.
In my eyes, this ball acts more like a medium strength solid rather than a pearl.
I find it very similar to my Brunswick Bruiser. Not identical, similar, in oil handling ability and in general ball reaction.

How about the new World Class coming out? The World Class Reactive Pearl?

The Absolute Power is probably the "weakest" of all the LM/L pearl resins. It is due to be discontinued in the 2007/6 lineup, as far as I know.
The World Class Reactive is, according to LM/L, one of the strongest of their "plain" resins.
The newer Buzz may be longer than the AP; I'm not positive because I haven't thrown on. According to the recent BTM review, it hooks a LOT.
Let me put it this way. If you place the pin above the level/area of the bridge, approx 5" from your PAP and kick the GC out slightly, several of the LM/L pearl resins should handle lighter to medium light oil.
Their next step down is, in my opinion, very far down: the Straight Flush is a pearl resin with a pancake core. The AP, SatisfaXion and Buzz are all above it in hook, oil handling and ball reaction. The next step up is the Masterpiece, which is very strong for a resin pearl, stronger than any of the above 3 balls.

The World Class reactive is NOT a pearl ... it's a polished solid reactive ball; BTW, BTM recently rated if 9.5 across the board for medium oil and stated that it's a sid/flip ball with amazing back end potential.

I believe the Straight Flush is the weakest ball they have on the market now...

nope; the Straight Arrow, a ployester ball, is.
The Straight Flush is their weakest RESIN ball.
Minor technicality. apologies ...

im sorry it was not specefic. I figured b/c the topic was about the AP, i assumed the PLASTIC ball was out of question.
I apologize, and will be more careful next time.

No need to apoligize. The topic is general and we need to pin the "area of play" down to a specific area or we won't make any progress.
