Any truth to quality concerns?
« on: October 15, 2007, 12:05:49 AM »
I have been away for awhile and have not been keeping-up with new releases.  I do remember reading rumors that Lane Masters/Legends do not include the goodies (ball cleaner, scuff pads, etc) in the boxes of their new balls any longer.  I also remember reading about how they are now using filler (or more filler) material in their bowling balls.  I know that in my New Standard, it appears as if the coverstock goes all the way down to the core.  Any truth to these?

Cleaner, scuff pads and other extras will only be included in the Legends Signature Series balls.

Lane Masters is now producing a lower price line of balls that have a specially developed "filler".  According to Fred Borden, the filler was developed to maintain a high coefficient of restitution.

The Legends Signature Series and Lane Masters "Max Performance" lines of balls still have core and cover material only.

odd how all these innuendos can be twisted into a bunch of major negatives, when there's reasonable explanations for them all.

I wonder why you worded them this way?

wonder how much overseas shipping and exposure to whatever elements might have had to do with absolutebowling's problems?

Have there been no other brands with anything like these problems?
Heck, here in the US, over the past 15 years, I have had mislabelled weights and cracked pins with EVERY brand, and that's in a shop from whom I was buying the ball.

Considering I don't get cracked pin problems with other gear I ship, and we ship close to 20-30balls a week, I am still putting it down to the legends QC process.

Mislabeled weights have happened before, yes. This generally leads to me not stocking the gear until the brand can consistently show no furthur issues with them moving forward. It's rather simple.

Odd situation, but OK.
