First off... I know "talk to Galen" That is on my list.

You all have a ton of knowledge, so I will ask you all first.

My father throws a beautiful down and in ball. He is the most consistent bowler I have ever watched that wasn't on television. Not just saying that because he is my father either. The problem is his ball is older than me(maybe). It is an old Star something or other. It is urethane and I think due to this and the core of his ball that his carry is just horible. Smash the pocket the whole night and stone sevens and tens. His ball will not allow him to move in and get any more entry angle, will just hit light then. He has a ton of hand and probably could play anywhere on the lane with the right ball.

So here is the question, what would be the best ball for him to get as an upgrade. I think he should get something that is not an aggresively hooking ball(too much shock to the system), maybe low particle load. He doesn't know much about the balls on the market now, but I'm not even sure where to suggest he start.

Well... I gave him the Dynothane Vendetta Solid, had it plugged and he got it drilled before league last night. Holy crap, he makes that thing hook. It's a good  ten boards stronger than when I threw it. Just beautiful. This has got to be the best starting point for him I could have found, especially for the price. If I would have gone the direction I originally had wanted to with a highend ball, it would never make it to the pocket or he'd standing way left and swinging it. Which he almost has to do with the Solid. It'll just take some getting used to, but his carry is better already, absolutely no weak fives due to lack of drive.
