The C300 Full Throttle.
http://www.columbia300.com/products/retired_detail.php?PRKey=178I had this ball drilled for length/arc to clear the heads a little better but still make a hard left at the break (to help overcome hooking heads). I didn't like the reaction I got from it at first because it wasn't giving me what I wanted (not enough length for inside angles, but I did like the recovery shape, just wanted something longer) and so I gave it to my Fiance because it didnt read the lanes soon enough on my house shot but didnt provide enough length on sport shots for what I wanted it to do.
Anyway, again my center puts out a tournament every sunday on the same pattern as the PBA that week, its kind of an "experience" tournament. So today, they had the US Open 50ft. flat pattern out (it was quite comical, high set after 3 was 560, and 488 made the cut to top 12 - 220 something was high game of the whole tournament
). When the tournament got narrowed down to top 6 I got a pair at the end of the house and proceeded to throw a little to experament. After not getting the look I wanted with 2 of my balls of choice, I picked up the FT she had with her and standing around 8-9 playing up 3 with my ball speed slowed down I had the best look of the day taking 5 racks to the pit on my next 6 balls.
Its not my ball anymore, but I'm looking for a replacement and drilling it similar/probably the exact same. I was looking at the XS Power. I think the BP might have too strong of a cover despite it being polished. Do you agree with my choice or can you give me a better one?
Ball drilled app. 5-5 1/4 (need to remeasure as I think my PAP has changed since then). with CG angled at around 35-40* (Pin over Bridge, CG kicked out just to right of fingers and just about level with/horizontal of grip center. Balance hole down and inside val in thumb quadrant).
Hope to get a similar reaction with what ever I choose.
Later,
