Just drilled one of these up for a customer tonight. Lefty, lower track player with medium speed and lower revs. Wanted something strong to allow him to get inside a little more than his other equipment. After speaking with Galen a little bit and discussing what exactly we were looking for in ball reaction, we decided on using a 3X3 stacked layout. I finished drilling the ball up in time for the 3rd game in league. He had been throwing his x-Factor Trifecta... I suggested that he moved 4 boards deeper and shoot for the same target... first shot ran high flush, but carried with a flying messenger across the deck. This was one of the rare times the guy EVER gets a messenger, let alone one with enough force to come across the deck and take out anything! Next shot ran a little high again and left a 4-pin... I told him to bump 4 boards deeper again and 2 boards deeper with his target... this gave the ball a lot more room.. came up light pocket and left a 7 pin.. adjusted back a board left and went sheet for 269... Previously had been playing straight up 5 board with a strongly drilled Trifecta... and barely getting back to the pocket. By picking up the big bang, he was instantly able to swing the ball from 7 boards deeper on the lane and had a MUCH stronger backend reaction. The ball just seemed to get into a heavy forward roll and really seemed to hit and carry great. This is one of the first Legends balls in our area in quite some time, but I have to say with the way it was performing tonight, it sparked up quite a bit of interest.
Nice job Legends/Lane Masters and thanks Galen for the conversation and advice!
