I am not getting the right picture from your information.

If your PAP is 5" over, that drill should NOT be touching the thumb hole, UNLESS the ball is flaring backwards for some even stranger reason.

And 5" over is not a high track by any measure.
I wonder who measured your track?  Maybe it's a lot longer, like 6", in which case, the pin should be at the height of the ring finger or higher. A low pin for a high tracker will UNDER NORMAL CIRCUMSTANCES, make the track clip the finger holes, not the thumb hole

Maybe you should talk directly to Galen at Lanemasters to straighten this out. There are too many unknowns for me to help. sorry.

My first thought was like that of LaneHammer20, that you are a full roller. If you're not, then my next thought is
A ball will flare in the reverse of the normal direction when the pin is below the center of the grip. For a low track bowler, this is OK, IF that is what they want or need. For a high track bowler, this is not a good thing, as seems to be happening with you.

Next idea is something I want to tell you. A high track bowler must take special care to position the pin correctly in order to avoid the ball flaring over any of the holes. Under normal conditions, the pin must be position on or above the line from the bwoler's ring finger to the bowler's PAP, positive axis point.

So I believe the first problem is your pin on this ball is fairly low.

2nd item of concern is what I mentioned earlier. IF a bowler's PAP is 5" over and 1/2" up, that is not considered to be a high track. I believe someone measured your track incorrectly.
 
Now, the problem is if the ball is drilled as you say, with the pin where it is, the ball should not be flaring in the opposite direction. I do nothave an answer or even a suggestion as to why that may be happening. I afraid you need to either talk to an experienced driller or call Galen at Lanemasters.
