Doug,
OOB grit is 800 gray pad; if you check the "L/LM" Forum on the BK, you'll see that many have had GREAT success with this ball polished (myself included).
Keep "us" posted, OK ???

ok, I got the ball from kingcranker in a deal.
It is drilled pin right under ring and cg stacked below about a 2.5 inch pin. no wt hole. my pap is 4 7/8 over and 1/2 up.
used it last night in a semi-sheen state. gave me an extremley predictable move, but a very slow arcing , move. seemed to get thru heads fairly clean. hit appeard to be good. was thinking that by abralon it 1000 grit and then highly polish to make a bit livelier on the backend. I am a very slow ball speed - 14-15 mph. thanks

I just put a coat of Ebonite Factory Finish on mine.
My BK is OOB. Ball reacted well, I could line up and play the lanes straighter with it polished.
Ball is even, smooth reacting.
Nice all around ball, for various conditions.

The "BK" is a VERY underappreciated ball (except by those of us that have one ... I have 2 !!!).
Anyway, Doug ... play with the coverstock surface, and if you still want to "tweak" the reaction, call or email Galen Gentry for his assistance; I have one (see profile) and the balance hole that he recommended for mine has worked wonders !!! (Please tell him that I "sent" you too, OK) ???
