Power Of L/LM Ball Cleaner

Everytime I use the L/LM Ball Cleaner that came with my two Legends Balls on my Brunswick Absolute Inferno, the color of the coverstock on the ball comes off on my towel. Not just a light tint, but a very-heavy bluish/purplish color. It doesn't do this on my WCP & WCR, but it sure does on the Absolute Inferno.  

Now, when I clean this same Absolute Inferno with Neo-Tec Liquid Nitro or Black Magic Rejuvinator Cleaner, this doesn't happen. Only happens with the L/LM Cleaner.

Does anyone have any idea of "why" about this?

i dont know about the color comeing off but i was told by some people not to use the lane masters cleaner on a ball thast not legends or lane masters... ive also heard of some people saying that when they clean some other balls with it that it leaves a film on the ball. thus i only sue that cleaner on my legends and lane masters stuff. and now its slowy begining to be all i throw anyway. great equipment

Been using it a long time now, Legends cleaner, that is. Haven't noticed any film yet ...

In fact, it's the strongest cleaner after pure acetone that I've found. I bowl in some "sewers" where black belt marks are constant; it helps remove them. Still wonder how something so apparently powerful was approved.

Charlest, are you saying it's approved for use during competition?  My bottles state it's not for use during competition.  USBC can't do anything about what people do at home, but during competition, I thought it was illegal.

No, I was not saying it is approved for use during competition. BUT I was under the impression, that since they include the stuff in every ball box, that it was approved for use. As such a cleaner, it should be allowed to be used at any time.

I have many bottles of this cleaner. I had to look through many of them before I saw the note, "Not for use during USBC sanctioned competition".

Now, I know what that means but I do not know what that implies. Cleaners are USUALLY either approved or illegal. Polishes can be legal but, when they contain abrasives which modify the coverstock, they cannot be used during competition. Legends cleaner obviously has no abrasives in it. So I seriously wonder what is going here.

I just checked the USBC list of approved, disapproved and other cleaners. It's not on there, as labelled by Legends. Maybe they never submitted it????

I really don't know.

My take is that if it's illegal during competition, then it's illegal to use, period.

I have the latest "skinny" on the Legends ball cleaner directly from the "higher ups" at Legends; I'll post a thread with that info later this evening.

BTW, Jim (BrickGuy) ... you said that their cleaner lifted color from your Absolute Inferno ??? My question is ... did you ever use any home methods of trying to get the oil out ??? If so, the cleaner MAY have drawn some of the plastizers out that you "loosened" up during it. FYI, I spoke to Galen and he had seen your thread stationg that fact ... they tried it on an AI and some other balls and got no colors on the rag during thier cleaning.

Robb, The only cleaning I have done to the Absolute Inferno is Ultimate Black Magic Rejuvinator  or the Legends Cleaner after each bowling session that I use the ball and Clean & Dull every 6 games or so. The ball probably doesn't even have over 20-25 games at most on it. I received it NIB for a Track NIB ball in a trade with another member on this site.
