What to expect?

I have New Standard and Big Bang in box.

What can I expect from these balls?
Is NS and BB more of a skid flip or arcing?
Any suggestions how to drill? Pin up or down?


Last time measurment ~500rpm, medium speed, high track, no tilt.

For now i have only Hornet for medium light (in video), old cracking C300 Messenger for medium heavy and urethane when nothing else works (actually urethane is universal. Works on any condition with some adjustments)

I think you'll be very disappointed with both.  Best to send them to me for a proper disposal.

The NS is a very arcy ball by nature.  Not quite as rolly as the sequel, but still.  With your hand, you will probably find it handles all the oil you could want.  It may be too strong, in which case I encourage you to send it to me for a proper disposal.

The BB is a little more angular.  I wouldn't call either "skid-flip" by any stretch.  It should handle medium-heavy quite well.  Both come with a sheen finish and you may find you need to drill them weak or shine them up a little to keep them from burning up.  

If you're using a Messenger effectively for medium-heavy, you should be real careful how strong you drill them.  Longer pin-to-PAP distances, 5" or more maybe, should make them more usable.

Really, though, just send them to me.

NS with pin up (5-5.5' to pap) and BB with pin down. Do they overlap?

I have the New standard now, andf Have had the Big bang. The Big bang which was drilled really strong for me had nice length for the drill, and a hard arc snap for me, plenty of midlane. This is a very good oil ball. I would do a pin up drill if you have 500 revs.


The New standard I have now has a very weak drill on it, like 5 3/4x 5 1/2 with the pin about 1 inch above my middle finger. Mine gets easy length with a swooping, but strong arc that carries REALLY good. With the little amoun t of flare I get this ball is a medium- med light oil ball, does great for clean backends. I recommend a pin up drill on this one as well, maybe a pin in one of your fingerts to make it right in the middle of up or down.

Both are amazing bowling balls.
