Title: Black Pearl (Sport League)....
Post by: DukeHarding on February 06, 2007, 01:16:55 AM
I used my Black Pearl for the first time since November.
It was too much ball. I took it down to 600 grit, which was hard to do on that cover. I put a good coat of Track Magic Shine on it.

I used it bowling at the Beverly Lanes Sport League (http://"http://beverlylanes.2gobowl.com/?page=Sport_Bowling"), and shot 221-198-213 = 632. My highest series on a sport shot. Felt like 750. I brought my average up to 181.

Played outside 10. Ball had good length, read the mid-lane, and strong finish.

I went back to finger grips.
Tried bowling the first part of the league without grips.
I found out I have no more hand than I ever had, so I put the grips back in...guess I need all the help I can get.

The BP will be in my bag for awhile.

Nice rolling Duke!  Must be a longer pattern?

Scott,
I think the pattern is 38-39 feet. Never look at the printout, anymore...it just makes me pre-judge the pattern. I just try to get my thumb out of the ball without topping it.

Rob, Here's a picture of the layout:

I plugged the fingers on a ball that was drilled for another lefty...moved them up about 3/4".

Guy I bought it from, drilled a few of his that way.
I never saw him bowl. I hear that he is good.
It works for me.
