Black Pearl Particle Drill
« on: August 17, 2008, 10:07:41 AM »
I haven't had a particle ball in my arsenal for quite some time now
and I've decided on the BPP as my new heavy oil ball.Everthing I've
read about this ball states it's breakpoint move is 'sharp, almost snappy'.
Since I have a hard time controling that type of movement, should I drill
it RICO? Or,drill it 3 3/8 stacked and scuff it with a green pad? MY
PAP is 5" over,1/2" up.I have a WCR drilled RICO,and on the right condition,
it kills.
The more I practice,the luckier I get.

good possibility.

3 3/8" stacked is one of the most flippy drillings. Given your statements above, I'd say, NEVER!

More evidence that the BP will tend (I use that word advisedly!!!) to be not so bad with that drilling for you.  Both the WCR and the BPP tend to have a strong backend reaction that can need some semblance of controll added to it for many people. (My BPP was very skid/flip.) Since your WCR is already good for you with the Rico, the BPP should, IN THEORY, also react well for you with this drilling. it should handle a notch more oil than the WCR, such that they should, IN THEORY, be goto balls for one another, for you.

Jeff is right, and on top of having different type ball, you can go with a different surface on one of them. That would give you a completely different look with one another, and this is, even if they do react close when u drill them the same. Worst comes to worst just change the surface!

I may be wrong but I feel the BP may even be 5-6 boards stronger than the WCR with the same layout... Enough already, just drill it!

I've made a suggestion that I hope works out for you. Please don't thank me until it works. As John said, if there's not enough difference between them, you can always adjust the cover.
