Could the Big Bang be the most...
« on: November 09, 2006, 03:07:20 AM »
versitle Medium oil ball ever?

Last night I rolled my Big Bang on a fresh 38 foot crowned pattern, with dry back ends for league night. Ball is driled stacked leverage or close to it.. since I recently found out my Pap is 6"over & 3/4" up .. maybe 4x4.  Anyways, i decided to put a fresh 800 grit wet sand on the ball and let me tell you... It woke this ball up something feirce.  I started out playing 13 to 5.. ball got EASY length, even with that drill pattern, set up well and made a sweet hard arc on the back end.

Rolled 243 the first game, left the big 4 split on my second shot after striking in the tenth.  Moved 3 boards left for the second game on each lane and shot 300. Moved 3 more boards left on the third game and left one ringing 10 in the 4th for a 279.

243+300+279= 822

What amazed me was the predictability and the energy retention of the ball...
The Big Bang is the most unusual ball.. for partical it rolls strong on the back end, never loosing any power.  I am gonna pick up another one soon.. and set it aside.  Its hard to find a ball that can go 45 feet without loosing ANY energy what so ever.  The ball crushes racks...

Hows this ball rolling for you guys, I am curious to hear some results.

I do however have one piece of advice... drill it strong... This is the type of ball that will only react better when drilled strong.. and it will never over react.. EVER... it just can't.

Drill it strong 1:30 label or stacked leverage and the ball will be Gold

"HoG",
I took mine down as low as burgundy pad, but never tried the ball with lower grits AND polished. And yes, based upon what I've "heard" from you, you have more hand than I (as most people do) ... I'm more of a stroker, and can occasional bump it up to being a power stroker/tweener (but that's not really my game).

Cory,
If you can get the right "matched up" layout for you on it, and the proper coverstock surface for your style and the conditions, you too will be "hooked", IMHO.

I like to drill all my balls in a strong layout, if it doesn't work for my throw i use with my balls i got now, i can adjust and play a different part of the lane.

Big Bang works best with a strong layout.. mine is stacked leverage... or close to it... since i found my PAP is a  6" over...
However, ball get easy length and sweet read with a strong drill non the less.
