I think this is the scenario -
When the initial Legends balls came out (New Standard, Yeah Baby, SatisfaXion), one of the differentiators for the Lanemasters balls (Kong, Absolute Power) was that they did not have the accessory package and came in the smaller boxes.
Right after that point, they started putting all the balls, Lm & L, into the big box with the accessory package.
Starting with the Hornet (and the Sting followed the Hornet, chronologically), they stopped the accessory package and the large box as a way of cutting back costs to the consumer. So the Hornet and the Stong should be lower in price (my Hornet was) tham the Legends balls and the previous Lanemasters balls, like the Terminator. Oddly, some internet sellers, like Buddies and Blockbuster Bowling, have kept the Hornet and the Sting at the same price level.
I think the Sure Strike and the newer balls from the mid-price line up will just come in the box. They are, of course, much cheaper.
