I am starting to think that this ball will be very close to the original New Standard if the cover was 800 sheen although I am not sure what "molecular particle" is. I love my New Standard as it is still in my bag today. Looks like I will HAVE to jump on this one.

Basic 4th arrow ball on a  house shot pattern.  I'd guess definitely a ball for closer to heavy unless you are high speed and low revs.

BTW....vid shows 1000 sheen.

Regular release, or just overseas? Looks promising, though.

It's a new Legends ball! Excellent, and it's not red!
Worth considering.

Yea, it's not exactly red. In person,  the ball reminded me of the World Class Reactive, maybe with a bit more toward the red side of the color scale, but not by a lot.

Have you drilled one yet?  I'd really like to get an idea on the LM line of current equipment where it fits?
Also I see Fred Borden's name on the Legends ball.  I thought Fred was not involved with LM/L anymore?

No, have not drilled one yet. Fred is still involved with Lane Masters.

Day to day operations; Johnny Jones still runs it for the most part. Galen Gentry is still there too.

As for who is involved, the original group (Palmer Falgreen, Sam Baca, Fred Bordon among others), not as day to day management of the operation, but I'm sure they all have input on the product line.

Johny Jones used to be the owner. I had talked with him once on the phone about a few matters. (He's the one who  told me that their cleaner was an industrial grade alcohol.) I thought some company from the Far East had bought them out after the problem with the shipping department a few years back. If he's still there, I guess the ownership has remained the same.

If Lane Masters/Legends were to have one person considered the owner, I think that would have to be Sam Baca as he founded the brand before they even made bowling balls(Legends Lane Oil, Cleaner etc). Johnny is one of the owners and the guy who has ran the day to day operation for several years now.

Milo,

I knew Legends Lane Oil existed before the ball making division  set up shop. Didn't know who was owner or manager until I talked to Johny one day.

How does the High Standard coverstock compare to the Buzz Premium Edition coverstock?

Buzz does not compare. Buzz will be a light oil to med oil ball. The ball will need dry/friction to make a left turn. The Buzz will have its place on the lanes but it wont be in medium heavy to heavy oil. High Standard 2.0 should be a ball that can handle heavy oil and still make the turn. This ball is on my next to get list. (Santa can you hear me???)

I think he meant the Buzz Premium, not the old Buzz. The Buzz Premium is a lot stronger than the old Buzz and I think, stronger than it seems. Don't forget it's not only a solid/pearl combo, it also has a light load of particles!!

And I doubt if the High Standard with its stock "POLISHED" finish will handle true heavy oil. No polished ball can, even if it is a medium load LaneMasters ball, and I ove them as much as anyone. I still have my original New Standard. Now if you sand the high Standard, it might be able to handle heavier oil. Let's wait and see, though, before we decide what it can based on advertising. I'm sure Pat will tell us as he will probably get the first one drilled.
