Finally Got My Lm/L Ball!
« on: March 02, 2007, 11:01:37 PM »
It was not what i expected, i expected the Big-R Bang, but i got The Buzz. It dosnt matter at all because i didnt pay $.01 for the ball.

Anyway, the specs before drilling the ball were 15 lbs 4 ounces. 3 ounces of top weight and a 2 3/8 pin length. I wanted a 4 x 4 1/4 drilling on the ball, which i laid it out as, but i forgot that my PAP has changed since i last checked it so today im going to re-check my pap and update with the correct measurements.

Basically is a variation on the label drilling. After drilling i ended with 5/8 side weight, 1/2 ounce of finger weight and 1 ounce of top weight.

I left the ball in OOB but since it wasnt shined very well, i took the polish that came with it and hit it with a coat on 4 sides to give it an even luster.

initial impressions with the ball:
I threw a few games with it yesterday to test it out. My first lane was oiled earlier in the day and had some open play and a kids league on it before i got there. Basically, the Buzz cleared the heads very well and wasted absolutly no energy in the front part. The ball picked up very well in the midlane, not strong, but enough so that at the breakpoint the ball was SMOOTH. It didnt jump on me when i bumped it out to the dry too much, it just had a very even and smooth strong arc to the pocket.

Then i moved to another lane which they had just stripped and oiled. Couldnt really use it on this shot because too much over under with the amount of dry i had. I used my Whirl Wind here for 2 games and once i got a smidge of carry down i was able to move in 4 boards deeper and use the carry down i got from the Whirl Wind to get the breakpint a little farther down the lane. After i did this i had a nice shot to the pocket.

I will update with more accurate Pin and CG to PAP measurements, pictures, and possibly video of the ball later tonight.
