Got my STING on the Fourth of July !!!
« on: July 04, 2007, 11:24:20 PM »
This will keep my "Insect" line complete ... I have a BUZZ, 2 Hornets, and now this light-load, Evolutionary particle Lane Masters ball (3 3/4 oz TW, 2 3/8" pin); not sure about a layout for it yet, BUT that will be determined this week !!!

Great news, let us know how you like it!  I'm new to L/M equipment and love my new Hornet.....I'm curious, where will the Sting fit in the insect line - I take it Sting for heavier oil or carrydown, Buzz for med-light, and Hornet for light?......let me know if I have this right.

thanks!

BUZZ for med-light/broken down patterns, Hornet for light, and Galen tells me the STING WILL be the strongest of the 3 in this series ... I won't know what it'll handle until I roll it(medium to med-light and flatter patterns, I'd think). Here is mine so far:

3 3/4 oz NIB TW, 2 3/8" pin, 4 x 3 layout, pin right of ring/cg around the ML,
800 gray pad, no polish (knocked the "shine" off per Galen's recommendation
(for my style). More later ........................

Once you get a chance to throw the Sting, let me know how it compares to the Big Kahuna.

Cores are completely different ...
Nope ... no pix yet
Barry, maybe ... in time it could happen; I'm just happy with my improved carry with this line of equipment.

Try your sting yet ?  Does it have the same core as the Buzz and Hornet ?

-Per Galen,  Sting has the same core as the Buzz and the Hornet.  Cover is light load particle.

OK, Robb, you've had it since July 4th???
It's now 10 days later; how about some initial comparisons to the Hornet and the Buzz and the BK , or the Kong or other Lm/L balls??

One game with this ball, on the Chameleon, 800 gray pad(knocked the shine off), 4 x 3 1/2 layout w/cg on the ML and right of the GL ... just what I thought it would be and that's a BUZZ on steroids !!! Strong arcing with that low-flare BUZZ/Hornet core and you can tweak that coverstock for what you would like it to do ... I'd say that it could work on flat patterns, and be used for medium conditions (as well as SLIGHTLY above or below medium conditions). More later when I get back on THS with it ...
NICE BALL !!!

Shaggy,
BK is a MUCH stronger ball, potentially, than the Sting .... IMHO>
