It depends. If you have a lot of hand I'd get the Black Diamond, if not so much get the Dynamic Power.

P.S. Don't sleep on the Xtreme Damage, it can handle (medium/heavy to heavy) as well!

yeah, not a hole lotta hand here...  Guess I need to go with the DP. My BD goes much longer than I anticipated it would...

I have both the DP and BD. To compare I'm a tweener and the DP is drilled up for early roll on heavy oil and it can handle anything I've seen so far. Not enough oil on most patterns for it but when there are nights with little back end the DP will handle it. The BD is drilled with the pin slightly above the ring finger with the CG kicked out about 45* or so. The ball will clear the heads and then nothing will stop this beast from moving towards the pocket. It scatters pins with weak hits and when your flush the crack this ball makes is distinctive. It is now the first out of the bag and doesn't go back until the heads are all burned up. If you have good speed this ball could be used for all three games if you can keep some head oil in it's path.

LM Lefty,

For my money, the DP is the natural oiler in LM/L's line-up. It is a low RG and high differential RG ball. Pin under would do the trick but also consider pin left of your ring finger, closer to a leverage layout. The lefty on both of my league teams uses this layout for his DP with great success. He rolls a DP on medium-heavy to heavy conditions and a pin over Buzz Attack on medium-light to medium conditions. He is somewhat of a side-turner, getting out of the ball between 45 and 90 degrees (7:30 to 9:00 o'clock fingers).

In comparison, my BD is versatile, for anything between medium and heavy depending on surface preparation. The BD surface is more tunable than any particle solid in my experience. If I had a pin over BD (mine is closer to stacked leverage which flares perhaps too much), I'd use this BD for a strong backend medium condition ball leaving it at a polished surface. If you need it a little more agressive, try a white pad. If you still don't have enough surface, a gold pad is next. I can't imagine using a grey, green or burgundy pad on this ball unless you plan on polishing over the pad surface.

I agree with Who's Next in that the Xtreme Damage is suprisingly strong out of the box. I keep my BD at white pad or gold pad and polished my pin over XD to cover the medium to heavy conditions. I like the BD with white or gold pad for high rev/forward roll on heavy conditions and the DP for side turners/lower track players.

The DP tends to throw/scatter pins all over the deck while the BD tends to explode racks. (Higher coefficient of restitution?)

YMMV
