KONG vs BIG BANG
« on: April 21, 2006, 12:46:48 AM »
These two balls stats look very similar.  They are both light load "Super Carbon" with a sheen finish.  Would it be an over lap to have both?

The Big Bang is NOT super carbon.. It is evolution particle which is not the same.. From what I have heard and read, the Big Bang is a much stronger ball..

You can check the lanemasters website for more info on both balls:

The original information in the LM site did say Super Carbon so that's where some confusion may be.  When I first saw that I also had the same thought that the balls looked very similar.  After talking with Ball Death and with Galen and also reading BTM's review it appears that the Evolution particle is what gives the BB it's length and big backend and sets it apart from the Kong.

I just picked up my BB and will be able to see just how different it is from the Kong.

The cores are VERY similiar BUT the coverstocks are completely different; the BB loves oil, and the KONG is more of a medium to medium-light condition ball that will skid a bit on oil (personal experience). Both, when used on the appropriate condition, go long and make a hard turn on the backend. My 2 cents ...

I've seen both the Kong and Big Bang in action. I've even thrown the Kong, but not the Big Bang unfortunately  These two piece's are so strong off the dry that the low rev player throwing them felt like Robert Smith. The Kong has much more length than the Big Bang. While the Big Bang will read earlier. Surface wise the Kong looks more polished than the Big Bang. The Big Bang has a duller finish to it .So to answer your question v02maxlefty. It would not be an over lap to have both of these ball together. I would put the Kong and the Big Bang in the One and the Big One category. If there is any body out there looking for balls to go coast to coast with get Lane Masters Kong and Big Bang they won't disappiont you like others have done in the past and now.
