Lane Masters Buzz Premium Edition
« on: September 08, 2011, 12:46:24 AM »
There is a new version of the original Buzz coming. It's an all new coverstock that is a particle hybrid and uses the Buzz core.

But the Sting Widow Maker also uses the Venom Hybrid particle coverstock, & also uses the Buzz core ????

Where is the difference?

Now that is a great question. (I asked the same thing.) This is supposed to be a "new" coverstock that hasn't been used before. I think the Widow Maker is a Medium particle load, so maybe this is low? High?

I'll post more details here when I get them.

Buzz Premium Edition

RG: 2.549

Diff: 0.031

Flare: 4”

Core: Buzz

Color: Light Blue Pearl

Coverstock: Venom Hybrid Reactive Particle (Light Load Particle)

Finish: 1200 Matte

Sting Widow Maker

RG: 2.549

Diff: 0.031

Flare: 4.5”

Core: Buzz

Color: Violet/Black

Coverstock: Venom Hybrid (Medium Load Particle)

Finish: 800 Grit Scotch-Brite Pad

Venom Hybrid cover with the medium diff. core to create a predictable ball motion.

The solid part of the cover stabilizes the mid lane while the pearl assists in retaining energy for increased ball motion on the backend.

This provides the bowler with a great look throughout the patterns transitional phase.

Since the coverstocks are different compositions, they should not use the same name: Venom Hybrid, no matter how catchy the name is..

Pat,

Thanks for posting that:
Do you know if the Buzz Premium is also a solid/pearl particle combo like the Sting?
From what you wrote, the only difference seems the Buzz is a light load, while the Widow is a medium load (with slightly finer surface). Sure is confusing.

Jeff,

Yes it is a solid/pearl mix.  I believe the Sting Widow Maker was 70% solid, not sure what the Buzz Premium Edition is, percentage-wise.

Heard the ball is a killer.

How did I know you would say that :)

Is the Ultimate Power under this new Buzz in terms of oil handling and hook?

My Buzz Premium Edition arrive last friday along with the Blue Diamond, I have yet to drill them.

The Buzz Premium Edition look just like the Blue World Class, and the Blue Diamond is to shabby looking either.

The Blue Diamond is just the overseas version of the Black Diamond Particle Pearl.  I only picked it up, when I called Lane Masters the other day and they asked if I was interested in it as it was the only one they had laying around.  It is the original color scheme(Sapphire Blue/Black) that the BDPP was suppose to be opposed to the current color scheme (greenish-pearl).

The Buzz Premium was reviewed in the November edition of Bowling This Month along with the BDPP.  Has anyone read the review(s) and willing to share?
