Black Pearl... What works best for you?
« on: November 12, 2006, 11:17:32 PM »
I just recently picked up a used BP and was wondering what is the box finish on this ball supposed to be? Mine is pretty shiny..

I was alos curious what grit works best for you guys out there throwing the BP..

Thanks in advance for the comments..

Just drilled mine to try today. (Have to try it with the stock surface first)
Looks like standard for a polished Legend: 800 grit + Legends polish.

These balls always look slightly odd, because the Legends polish has no grit in it. So, I, for one, always see the sanding lines underneath.

For some reason, when using Legends polish, I can see the sanding lines after I polish it. When I use other gritless polishes, like Brunswick's polish and Track's Magic Shine, I see less sanding lines, but you can still see them.

Jim,
I'd tend to agree with Charlest, and mine is OOB still; I recently had it cleaned up, hit it with an 800 gray pad and repolished ... seems the same as before.

OOB, the BP is considered a "medium oil" ball?
