just bought a couple of LM's balls....
« on: March 21, 2007, 10:59:10 AM »
from bowling.com, the World Class Particle and the Black Pearl.  The WCP arrived late last week, made me happy with new bowling ball goodness.  The BP was backordered, and just arrived yesterday.

Problem is, when I brought it out of the box -- it had a scar on it about 1.25 inches long, .25 inches wide at the widest point, and about 1-2 mm deep.  Now some may think that scars are sexy, but I really wanted the first damage done to the ball to be when I had it drilled.

I can't tell where it will fall as far as whether it will be out of the way when I put the ball on the lane, or whether it will be right in the middle of the roll path.  I sent an email to the support link on their website, because the only damage to the box was that the lid had been half torn off, but the inside ball-sling and all accessories were in perfect shape -- which leads me to believe that the ball may have left LM in that condition.

I'm a bit leery of doing an rma on the ball, simply because of the hassle I've gotten from other companies for other types of equipment.  Plus, both 14 and 15 pound BP's are on backorder for bowling.com, so I'd wind up waiting either way

Haven't heard back from LM, but since they're West Coast, and I'm East Coast -- I wasn't expecting to get a reply until maybe tomorrow.  Anyone out there had to work w/LM on RMA's, or have any advice?

1. Do not do anything to that ball. period!

2. Contact the person/company from whom you bought it, NOT from where you think/believe/know it was sent.

3. Do not acept anything but a new, PERFECT replacement no matter what. PERIOD!

You paid, I assume, for a new ball, not a scared one. Not matter what amount you paid, it was for a new ball.

Fault is not yours to judge; all you know and you should admit to is that you have received an imperfect product. You paid for a perfect one. END OF STORY.

FYI I hope you used a credit card; so you have a basis for some recompense and judgement.
