Most controllable Lane Masters Ball?
« on: April 06, 2006, 09:11:28 AM »
Of the current production bowling balls that Lane Masters or (Legends) has in their product lines, which ball would be classified in the pure medium oil category?  One that would be a good ball for a power stroker with high roll and medium high revolutions. Basically, more of a control ball. Feel free to include your favorite control based layouts (check out profile for style details)

Would like it to be a light to medium particle mixed solid. But really open to any and all suggestions.

Of what i have now the big kahuna fits the bill mine is polished and drilled pin above ring stacked about 3 3/4 x 4 drilling. Ball is still not flippy even polished, i will have the big bang tomorrow so if it is more medium i will post again for you. I have the world class and i can tell you it needs oil to work correctly more medium/heavy category a small step down from a big one out of the box finish.

My dull new standard would be a closer to medium ball then the world class, i have it pin over ring and cg out positive about 2 inches.

IMHO, and from what I've heard in the past (and charlest will chime in on this too) ... best "benchmark" ball would be the NS (New Standard), although I'm quite SURE that there is more than just the one. The NS is my current benchmark ball ... see profile.

Guys, fine,  put more pressure on me.

Maybe I'll just wait until I see some more "plain talk" replies ...

And, if I have any influence on you folks, I'll keep pushing for details about each ball: how you drilled it, how you throw it and on what type of oil pattern you use it well. Even if they're generalities, so as not to bog people's brains with too much detail, but some detail is needed. Sharing and helping means information. later ...

As a start, I find the Absolute Power and the NS2 to THE major balls, with CONTROL designed in.

Others, like the Guaranteed, AP2, are control by nature of their relative earliness.

Others, like the World Class, BK and the original New Standard can become control type balls by nature of the bowler's release, the amount of oil on which they are used, and by drillings.

Then put the pin on the bowler's PAP and almost any ball can be a control ball.
