These get punched-up this afternoon, will post pictures later this evening or early tomorrow.  They don't look like the picture on the website, more gray-ish black opposed to the black/blue.

Drilling #1:  65* x 3 3/8" x 60* Pin Below The Ring Finger.

Drilling #2:  80* x 3 3/4" x 35* Pin Right Of Ring Finger, CG In The Middle Of Grip/CL.

I've had mine for about a month now and I thought the same thing. Not the deep black color like the Black Pearl and Black Diamonds have. Mine seems to have a bit of a greyish green tint, but still a great looking ball. It's very strong, thats for sure.

The appearance, if the pics are accurate, reminds me of the Hornet.

They aren't quite as green as the Hornet, at least mine isn't. It's more of a greenish hue to them instead of the deep forest green the Hornet has.

Milo,

Saying the Hornet is "deep forest green" is taking credit away from the forest.
Mine was kind of green-ish if you looked at it from the right angle. The subdued colors on the Hornet and the Buzz (blue where the Hornet was green) always kind of distracted me from their excellent performance.  As if Lanemasters wanted them to blend into the background.

I can believe that. Sometimes LaneMasters balls will vary in color quite a bit. I have two Hornets and both are a deep green. My Buzz is an unusual color, not really blue as yours is, but maybe a blue-green. Of course, I have seen red Hornets, but I think those were different balls.

My Black Diamond Particle Pearl is very similar to the original Black Pearl, except instead of that deep black, it has a slight green tint. Very nice ball though. Stronger than my Black Diamond Particle but not as angular, very similar to the Black Pearl.

I got to throw a few frames with these last night, had to stop as I re-aggravated my groin muscle on my sliding leg from last week.  I only had a chance to compare it to my Xtreme Damage(pic of layout in profile) and it easily out-hooked it and picked-up much sooner in the midlane.  I really didn't notice too much of a difference in the 2 different drillings I had on the the 2 Black Diamond Particle Pearls, although it did seem that the pin-down version wanted to check up a little sooner than the label leverage one(obviously).

I will update later as soon as feel strong enough to roll some more frames/games and compare it to some other pieces of equipment that I own.

I took mine out of the box and compared it to a nib Buzz I have and they are similar looking. I like the label on the Black Diamond P/P with the different colors and sparkles!!!

Got to use the new Black Diamond Particle Pearls tuesday night(5/17/11).  The Pin-down Version for me is basically a carbon-copy of my Pin-Down Sting and the Label-Leverage Version reacts very similar to my original Sting which was also drilled Label-Leverage.  It's amazing how close these two are to my current and previously owned Stings.  Not saying it's a bad thing but I am glad I drilled the one Label-Leverage because I really regret giving my old Sting to my brother and this a perfect replacement for it.

Pin carry is typical of the Dynasty weightblock, track flare for me on the Pin-Down Version is close to around 5-1/2" (it's rated at 7") and around 4" - 4-1/2" on the Label-Leverage Version which is pretty good for me based on my release.  As previously stated in early comments, the Pin-Down Version is much more aggressive early where as the Label-Leverage Version can be projected down lane a little easier.

I plan on throwing them this evening after league play to see how they react on a little bit of carrydown (which is where the particle pearl coverstock should accel).  I also plan on changing the coverstocks this evening with a little polish to see what effect it has on them and will report out later.

Looks to me like another fine addition from Lane Masters.

Threw this in league practice and decided to use the Pin-Down version for league play.  I didn't use the Label Leverage one as I had it polished and it was a little too long.  The Pin-Down Black Diamond Particle Pearl is eeriely close to my Pin-Down Sting as previously stated in my last post.

Proceed to shoot 236(opend last 2 frames), 267(front 8) and finished with 226(4-10 pins) for 729.  Not bad for missing the last 3 weeks of league play due to a slight groin injury.

I think this ball will be a keeper.
