With the same drilling, the NS is earlier, smother and more towards a control type of ball. The YB is longer (even though it has a heavy load of particles) and has a very strong, almost flippy (for a solid particle) type of backend. I stand 7-10 boards deeper with my YB than my NS. The YB seems to be more of a medium-heavy type of ball while the NS can handle medium (well, longer mediums) to medium-heavy oil. Both hit like ... well, hard.
Both will take polish easily, but if you do use VERY, VERY little. A little polish make for significantly greater length on both balls. I prefer finer sanding grits, 2000 or if necessary 4000 grit.
