Why all the higher RG stuff?

Is it just me or is the best LM ball made to this point the XS Power?

It's just you.

If you have higher ball speed or less revs, you may need/want (probably more "want") lower RG balls,
OR
you could drill some medium RG balls with lower pins and use rougher surfaces.

It's never an all or nothing game. Humans have a tendency to want to simplify situations to make them easier to understand. The RG is only one of the factora.

As the USBC studies have shown, surface is significantly more important than almost any other one single factor.

Yep, it's just you. The XS Power is a good ball, but Lane Masters has some great equipment out there. Although, the XS Power might be the one that matches up best for your game.

#'s don't tell the whole story.. I had a Satisfaxion thinking the .40 differential would allow me drill it to play some skid/flip with it.. WRONG! That ball flared 8 inches and was a rolling monster.. Awesome ball

It is the overall design package, both core and cover have to match up well. With LM, one major factor for the higher RG numbers is that no filler is used, so the inside of a ball is (relatively) dense and massive - which raises the RG number. Most balls also have lower differential numbers, too, and that's the result of LMs design philosophy. Brunswick used to have very low RG/med diff. cores for some time - probably because it was the best match for the coverstocks and for a wide range of user profiles and utilities. Very complicated package you have to look at, and I would not generalize.
