Newest ball reviews -> Lanemasters convert?
« on: October 05, 2007, 12:58:17 PM »
I was just browsing some of the latest official ballreviews and it seems that we have a new convert in leftyinhawaii. Check out what he has to say about the Guaranteed and the Sting.

Let's see how long the "honeymoon" lasts.

Nice bowling, leftyinhawaii, by the way! Winning pots is a good thing.

Hard to believe there aren't more converts.  Maybe the Sure Strike will do that with its lower price tag.

Can't really call myself a convert because I really liked AZO before but I won't be buying other brands in the future.

I find the Yeah Baby and Masterpiece to be two very interesting balls.

Thanks Jeff

Many people think they'll be made fun of if they post their opinions; so, there are many more lurkers than posters. Some just don't like to post their opinions.

Then again, many, like I, refrain from "official" reviews until we have a lot of information.

Many of us who have been on this site for long term post initial findings in the forum that the ball pertains too and don't post reviews.  Majority of reviews don't have enough information and not very conclusive. ie. "This ball hits like a truck!" Bowlers stats., lane condition used on, how ball is laid out, etc.

We'll all I can say I mainly use Visionary products and a few LM/L balls.  Like the products.

I can say, I never have gotten slammed as I gave my honest opinion as well as what I thought was good information with as much information as I could give.  If you do this I doubt you will get much grief.

Most that post reviews in the reviews section don't get much believeability <if that's a word>.  I do try to show some maturity with my posts also.

Here's a review I posted back in 2004.  http://www.ballreviews.com/Reviews/Reviews.asp?ManufacterID=13&BallID=523&ReviewID=21858

I believe a well written review should contain as much as this one did plus more.  If those in charge of BR.com would have come out with a fill in form years ago it would have been better for ALL.  But, that's been bantered about for years and nothing has come of it nor will IMO.  That's why most of us long term users don't post reviews and instead get info. from each other....much of it by PM so no one can learn.  That's the point post it in a forum that it pertains too and you can exchange information.  Post it in a review and there is no exchange....just your opinion.

I know my game matches up with charlest very well.  Look at both our profiles very similar games/techniques.  What may work for Jeff may work for me.

Been bowling behind a "varied" league of bowlers, in my Friday league. A mixed bunch of hook bowlers and  straighties. There is usually a mix of spotty conditions, including some carrydown, and some torched areas.

This past Friday, after throwing two practice balls on each lane, I opted for using my Hornet...all night. It was a great choice since I shot 693 overall.
This is a very consistent, sneaky strong ball. I love it....especially for dry lanes! Way to go Lanemasters.

Robospare,

This is an e-mail response from Galen Gentry at Lane Masters on September 24, 2007:

Pat,

Due to the overwhelming response to our new Sure Strike and Sting, we have decided to push back the release date of the WCPP & XSPower to late October early November.

We apologize for the delay.

Thank you,

Galen Gentry

Best take a look at the pics I posted and see their manufacturing facility and then you'll understand why LM/L is smaller and can't push out product.

For one, I'm glad they are as I've never seen a poorly made ball and they have good QA just like Visionary which also is smaller.

Just have to be happy with what they have in their line-up or wait.  Or you could buy Big B and have their QA problems.

Just looking at the numbers:

Sting - 2.549  .031   4.5 inch flare

World Class PP - 2.57   .035   5 inch flare

Is the WCPP going have more length?
