Next new release from Lane Master
« on: August 21, 2014, 11:47:03 AM »
Hey guys, looks whats next from Lane Master. With the move to bring back the old classics, the next up is the Buzz Legend. This will most likely be my next purchase, having a hard time choosing with all the new stuff.

Lane Masters is making great stuff! If you don't have one yet I think the Black Pearl Blue Ocean is a MUST have ball. Just ordered a Power Strike and will most likely get the Buzz Legend too!

I am torn between the new Buzz and the Black Pearl Blue Ocean. I liked the original Xtreme Damage, and will eventually pick up the XDP. So many new releases, this is making decisions so hard, but that's a good thing.

Here's the info on the Buzz Legend

LM/LF needs to put out all 14 lb ball specs on LM/LF balls to the buying public.  Not having 14 lb. ball specs with the same core is leaving out pertinent information that some buyers would like to know before purchasing.  Personally, I look at all numbers of 14's before I decide to buy.  I would hazard a guess 25% of the market is 14 lb'ers.

+1. Core number for some companies dramatically change and can have a big differences from 14-16. Especially pre-USBC ruling

I think that the buzz legend might be the next ball I get. Like you said very hard to decide, there are alot good balls available from Lane Masters/ Lord Field. Decisions, decisions, decisions.

So the 14lb balls dont't have the same core that the 15 & 16's have? Was gonna pick up a buzz just to try it but not if the 14s have a different core

core is probably the same shape but density is different to lose that 1 or 2 pounds. Because of the two piece construction I think that's about the only way to change ball weights.

The Legend is a Mid Rg and Low Diff. ball, this ball has the same #'s or close to the Old Buzz's, that's all the info you really need, as soon as you punch holes in any ball, the core specs change, then it's up to drilling & surface prep to match-up to a lane.

As a consumer, anyone that wants to know a spec. on any 14 - 16 lb balls should have that info. available to them.

I doubt not seeing numbers for all 3 weights is going to affect sales, all you need is the average numbers for the 15 pound range, a point or 2 up or down is not going to be critical.

As an example would these numbers on each ball (same ball brand and model) react the same with the same layout and surface?

Weight    RG    Diff    MB
14    2.51    .053
15    2.52    .045
16    2.53    .041

I doubt not seeing numbers for all 3 weights is going to affect sales, all you need is the average numbers for the 15 pound range, a point or 2 up or down is not going to be critical.
