World Class/R
« on: September 13, 2006, 04:56:31 PM »
I want to say how i love this ball on a lighter medium shot, super clean through the heads and pin crushing power. So far games of 225,231 with it, i thought i would post this because it seems like this ball is getting no love here. The WCR is a winner so if you have a lighter volume pattern and like to play the backend of lane give this ball a shot.

I am going to get a 2nd one soon and take too 4000 no polish and put the pin over the bridge, the 1 st one i have is pin under ring cg right above my thumb with no weight hole. Legends is top notch stuff try one for yourself

Brick,

Recognize that the ball's spans and pitches will also fit you differently depending on whether you use the Mongoose (which just helps you keep your wrist straight) and the Moro (which causes you to cup it AND to release it differently.

So the balls react differently AND they fit you differently. So, you should now actually re-fit your span and pitches AND re-drill every ball you now own.

My belief is you keep changing different variables and expect other not to change, when they can't help changing - cause and effect.

You will constantly be disappointed when you keep shifting the base upon which you and your bowling stand.

500 Grit with Abralon Pad and 3/4 as much shine with Legends Polish  that came with the ball as compared to when the ball was when NIB.

Charlest, the problems seem to have begun when I switched from Vise Grips to Turbo Quads. I use the power lift side on both. However, this did alter my fit as the Vise have more forward taper than the Turbo's do. According to KOTM, the forward pitches in these grips is...

Turbo Quads.....1/8
Turbo Power Oval....3/16
Vise........1/4

Even though the span will measure close to the same with these grips, the grip feel isn't as with the Vise for example, with the 1/4 forward pitch this stretches the hand a bit and give the feel of a wider span. Probably more noticeable with someone like myself with a stiff hand, fingers and thumb, and etc. vs someone with a more limber or flexable hand. With my stiff hand and no stretch to it, it makes a difference.

The first thing I noticed when I switched to the Turbo Quads was my grip feeling like it had been shortened. This may be why the Pro Release seemed to work better than the Mongoose did Sunday in that with the Mongoose, the wrist is straight and by cupping the Pro Release even though very slightly, it changed the fit of my grip giving it the feel of a slightly longer grip. Maybe that fit with the Pro Release is the same as it was with the Vise Grips and the Mongoose because cupping the wrist does tighten the grip a bit. If I continue to use the Turbo Quads, I don't see me changing my grip span, but I may have to take the 1/8 reverse pitch off of the fingers to compensate for the pitch difference between the Vise and Turbo Quads.

I quit using Vise Grips because they are sticky at times. More so at some times than others, depending on the weather, temperature, humidity, and etc. My fingers wouldn't always go into them or come out of them smooth at times even when the grips weren't tight. That is why I recently changed.

I'm not clear where you are coming from here. Tenpinspro gave me a complete new grip almost 5 months ago. The best fit I have ever had. To this very day nothing has changed in the grip Rick gave me. The only change that was made was the brand of finger grips of which I have already explained why.

Personally, I'm "sold" on 10th Frame inserts since the pro shop in Cali used them for my new stuff that they drilled.

Brick,

Nothing changed since Rick helped you settle things a bit, but then yo ujust changed wrist supports. That alone changes your grip and your span. I'm only guessing it might change finger and thumb pitches.

The idea is you're changing basics; when you change basics, other items or factors in the chain of dominoes are also affected.

Do as you see fit, but I'm suggesting that you be EXTREMELY careful about what you change and when you do see fit to change, be sure you change everything that is affected by the first change and so on down the line.

Charlest, you misunderstood me or else I didn't explain clearly in that I only "tried" the Pro Release Sunday. I never said or meant that I was switching. I only said I "may" try it a week or two and see what happens.

I have no plans to change anything at the moment other than what I have already said about trying the Pro Release some more. Even though I have used a Pro Release most of the time the last 7-8 years and only started using the Mongoose this past June, I prefer the Mongoose in terms of it's light weight and comfort. From the moment I received my new grip, I didn't like the feel of the Pro Release any more and that is why I switched to the Mongoose.

The finger grip change is really what set me back a bit at this point I am not sure yet what I am going to do about it. I just wish the Vise Grips weren't so sticky. I don't know why they are more sticky than the Turbo Quads unless it might be that they are a bit softer, but I don't know that. My fingers and thumb have been way more wet the past year and due to according to my Dr, my medication and that with the soft-sticky Vise Grips gives me problems.

Turbo also has a power lift grip with close to the same taper as Vise. I don't know if they are as sticky as Vise or not. I am going to Email a friend of mine at Turbo tomorrow about this and see what he says.
