Title: Old ball crack

Has anyone had a problem with cracking LM ball?
There are still old undrilled LM balls around.
Are they getting old (getting dry)?

Have had a few (12 - 15 or so), Have not yet had one crack?

How does a ball get dry? Never heard of this.

I have my original Yeah Baby and my original New Standard from 2004/5. No cracks. They've been sitiing in my basement for the past 2 1/2 years while I used 16 lb. balls. Went back to 15s in late spring. Will use them this fall.

Yep they're getting old and dry, but I have a method to get them back in shape.  You can send them to me and I'll nurse them back to health.  They'll be well taken care of and you can set your mind at ease.

If you are in a hot area like vegas they will crack left and right, expanding and contracting will kill drilled balls off.

Never had an undrilled ball crack yet, have watched 3-4 balls crack in half on a drill press being punched though. Ebonite Black Matrix was two of them back in the day.

Also never had a legends or Brunswick ball crack yet, every other would be a big yes with one unnamed brand here going upwards of 50 balls now. Since they always replace I will be nice and not slam them, still buy there stuff because they back it up.

I have seen cracked NIB balls at my pro shop, but these were not LM balls (either Track or G900), and the damage was surely a result of high and quick temperature changes during container transport overseas.

Anybody ever see a LM ball with no filler crack? Like a Yeah baby. Just curious. Thanks.

Only with obvious abuse - i.e. sledgehammer and splitting wedge, other than that - nope.  Did have one person try to prove me wrong by taking a LM ball (his, not mine) out to a parking lot and slam it against the ground a couple of times off the back of a pickup.  It got scarred up, but didn't crack.

I had an Extreme(?) Impact (the red one with the flag) and it cracked sitting in my basement.
