Just curious as to why Legends/LM hasn't been or will no be approved and used in the PBA. Anyone?

The obvious answer is they dont think the cost of product registration is justified by the possible exposure it could bring.

Since the news that L/LM wasn't going to pay the PBA registration fee, I've purchased 2 Columbia 300's and a Storm bowling balls.

I agree with Gr8scott, L/LM 's equipment is better quality than most others.

It was my understanding that they would go back to being grassroots approved, which is less money than a full sponsorship.

However, upon checking the pba list of approved equipment, I don't see them listed.  Ironically, Lane #1 apparently ponied up the cash for full approval.
The Gathering 2014 is near.  July 25-27 in Winston Salem, NC @ Creekside lanes.

The only problem I could see with a full sponsorship would be that you would have to add a couple of Pros to your PBA staff.  Rhino Page would be a logical choice since he has worked with Fred Borden, Ron Hatfield and Jeri Edwards who are all Gold coaches associated with Lane Masters.  This is not a bad problem.  The true problem comes when Lane masters equipment wins 3 out of 4 PBA tournaments in a month.  This relatively small company then would not be able to keep up with the demand for their equipment.  Even now they seem to have some production problems with the current demand.  Hopefully we will see some changes for the better from Lane Masters in the near future.

pla...leese.  If you are going to bowl PBA fine, otherwise WHO cares.  The only thing that matters is that the product is good and is USBC Sanctioned.  There are marketing problems, however when people see the ball and scores,it won't make a difference.

I'm looking past just league or ProAm bowling. Thinking ahead to some PBA regionals, it would be nice if L/LM were registered.

Lane Masters would prefer to be PBA registered. It is an unfortunate business decision that we have to make. The registration fee compared to the return on investment is just to high to justify for our sales volume and size of our company at this point. Lane Masters is sorry for this inconvenience, and in no way discounts the power of the PBA to help overall company image and exposure.

Thanks Darren!
I own 4 Legends / Lane Masters balls and love them all.  My faves are the Sure-Strike and the World Class Reactive.  Simply outstanding quality, and the coverstocks last longer than most.

Continued success in the future.
