Title: Picked up a Buzz Attack today...
Post by: leftyinsnellville on March 17, 2009, 07:05:50 AM
off of ebay.  It was listed as a "seed ball" but the price was $149 shipped so I figured "what the heck?"

Anyone have any info that I should be concerned about? (Like seed balls are junk or fiction.)

Seed balls (or other seed products) are balls that are distributed or sold in low quantities before the ball becomes available on the market - sometimes even before the marketing machinery gets really loud. It is a form of guerilla marketing.

The idea is to catch the attention of "those with a keen eye" and start word of mouth effects, plus the "cool" effect for having a ball that is ahead of its market introduction. Elite did this some weeks ago with their PBA Major, and the ball should be O.K. (no blem or second quality thing).
