Quick question for buzz owners
« on: December 07, 2006, 08:50:13 AM »
Ok i bought a buzz, undrilled from someone, when i get it i want to know if the ball is suitable to drill it stacked and still get the length and snap in the backend on the light oil, which is my sole purpose of buying it, or would that make it lose length and start rolling earlier. Or should i go with the length layout, which seems would make the ball go to far and lose alot of punch in the backend because it seems to be a weaker core/ cover combo than many other L/Lm balls.
I need your guys 2 cents on this, I am hoping i can drill it stacked, which i like alot on my big bang, and still get the reaction and lane conditions i am wanting out of it. Thanks

HI
I have one now for 2 weeks
I have mine drilled label leverage,
If you have a bang drilled stacked
I think you will like a buzz drilled
a little weaker they will not be far
apart on light oil
the buzz is a strong ball it will turn at the
end
thats my idea by where i bowl we don't
have much oil.
then i go to the masterpeice when the
buzz is to much.

Ok i haven't got many answers here yet, but does anybody have a Buzz drilled stacked leverage, and if so , can they tell me what it is like.

iN my opinion i don't think the Buzz will be anywhere near as strong as the Big Bang, being that it is reactive with a polish. I want strength in the ball on the back, with nice length. I just don't know if stacked leverage will be ab;e to produce that in The Buzz.

Just need some opinions from people that own one, if not i guess i will call Lanemasters and talk to Galen.

A call to Galen is ALWAYS a good thing !!!

FYI and FWIW, here's mine and it work for me as designed:

BUZZ: 3 3/8 oz TW (NIB), 2 3/4" pin, 4 x 4 1/4" layout,
pin right/above the ring, cg 9/16" above ML, OOB, no WH
     (1/16 finger wgt & 5/8 side wgt)

Check the web site for the "L/LM" stats and opinions of The BUZZ:

I don't know how much this is going to help considering all the variables will be entirely diffferent for you but I do have a Buzz drilled stacked. I've tried it on medium-heavy and medium-light. For me, the ball has nice length and is arc-y. The arc, of course, starts sooner on a dryer condition and later with more oil, but always an arc. I have adjusted the surface to 1000 abralon and 2000 with varying amounts of polish and although this showed me how strong this ball can be, it is still a very even arc in it's motion. I presently have the ball at 4000 abralon with no polish and am able to use it rolling over 12 to about 8 on a medium-light condition. I don't know enough about drilling and certainly don't know enough about how you bowl to suggest anything. I would "grain of salt" my experience as it applies to you and would advise you to listen to Laybzz74 and seek help from the sources he suggested. I am not happy with my stacked layout but I think the ball is excellent.

DRILL it long and strong.. not early roll... dont drill it stacked... maybe like a 5 by 5 pattern.. with a 3.5 inch pin.. 3 ounces top weight.. pin above ring finger... that a sick drill for that ball

I have4 really been thinking of drilling it the length layout, that seems best suited for the ball, thanks
