Black Pearl question
« on: October 30, 2006, 06:51:03 AM »
Got Black Pearl 15lb
3.5 inch pin
3 top weight

16.8 mph lotsa revs, high tilt... ususally play between 13 and 20 on fresh oil house patterns, sending ball the to the wall, or anywhere slightly off the gutter where I can get hold.

I am finding that I need length drills on medium oil type balls, but still need energy retention to keep the ball from rolling out off the dry.

So I am thinking of placing the pin above my bridge one inch and stacking the pin in my palm on my midline and center grip.

any other suggestions?

Yeah ... call Pat Duggan at BowlingBallMall; 1 (405) 282-2695; I'd recommend Galen Gentry ate Legends BUT he's out of town until next week or the week after next.

Tell Pat that Robb Laber told you to call him ; he has a WEALTH of knowledge and his wife, Anne Marie is on Legends staff (and she runs the pro shop and does the drilling now ... Pat was a pro shop owner and driller for years.

I used that exact pattern on a Black Pearl in a tournament this weekend. Shot +394 in 1st 8-game block, then shot +498 in final 8-game block. Leverage drilling was too strong for me on THS, but this layout was clean through the front and HUGE back end.
