Lane Masters - Pure Clean Ball Wash
« on: June 29, 2010, 09:47:47 AM »
Finally got to test out the Pure Clean Ball Wash.  I tried it on my Xtreme Damage and Sting, but I think the feedback will be skewed due to the fact that I clean my stuff religiously with the Lane Masters cleaners and bowl in a very clean bowling center, so I decided to try it on a friends equipment.

My friend has two Absolute Inferno''''s a Roto-Grip Nomad/Pearl and a Fury I tried it on. When I was done soaking each for the recommended 15 minutes each, I took each ball out and wiped them clean with a terry cloth towel.  Each ball had a squeeky clean feel after each was dried off and a significant amount of oil had risen to the top of the bucket of water and turned very cloudy(opposed to clear when they were 1st placed in the bucket).

I didn''''t get to see him throw them immediately after, but he claims to have gained at a minimum of 3-5 boards back in overall hook and gained some of his pop back.  Although he is a very reliable source for feedback as he is a very accurate bowler and very knowledgeable his ball maintenance is something left to be desired.

UPDATE: JULY 14. 2010
Tried The Pure Clean Ball Wash on a friends Elite Platinum, he usually doesn''''t clean his stuff and bowls in an older house in town.  Same procedure as above and after 15 minutes the solution in the bucket was very, very cloudy almost grayish-brown in color.  In this attempt at cleaning, we also noticed a little bit of tackiness was restored to the finger inserts as well.  My friend got a chance to use it in my center and it looked like he gained about 3-5 boards more hook back then before cleaning.  Also noticed the ball dries very quickly and can almost be used immediately after cleaning as the solution seems to dry very quickly.

Hope this helps,

Nice review Pat.

I finished my first bottle of Pure Clean and have a second bottle here ready to go. The funny thing is, I used most of my Pure Clean cleaning my friends equipment. Their feedback has also been highly positive.

How's the umm, ahem, smell?  Does it smell as, err, pleasant as the other cleaner?

Didn't even notice the smell, it's not a very strong scent.

Thanks Pat. Glad you tested the cleaner as you did. The results are the same as here. A second cleaning in approx. 2 weeks will reveal a little more oil and make the ball last a little longer between cleanings. Take Care.
