Rumor?
« on: October 05, 2008, 11:47:50 AM »
I hate to propogate rumors but i heard from 2 people in the shop last night they heard that LM/Legends is out of business? Is this true? or just another stupid rumor? I don't sell alot of their stuff in our shop so just thought I would ask here.

Thanks

Maybe they have been having money problems since they didnt even PBA register this year.

Just because a manufacturer does not register does NOT mean they are having financial problems.

A simple "No" would have sufficed but thanks.

Like I said I was just asking.

Why do people say "I hate to" and then go ahead and do it anyway?

Billy Ray,

You know what I think would have been a good way to go about finding the info. you wanted rather than start some rumors and innuendo.  Since you own a pro shop and drill for a living I assume....why not go back thru your supply chain and industry insiders.  I'd think they'd know a heck of a lot more than some posters on a bowling forum.  Other than Barry aka mrbowlingnut.

So, is Ebonite going under Billy Ray???????

I did that but nobody knew anything or wasn't talking about it thats why i asked here. Seems the internet guys know more information alot quicker and are happy to leak it to the public.

Again thanks for the info..I apologize to LM/Legends if they think i was Starting a Rumor. IT was NOT intended to do this I have a couple customers interested in trying their products and they heard a rumor that they asked me about its just that simple.

Thanks Again.

I am on their PBA staff and I'm from the same area(N.Cal).I  know that for a fact they are still in business, and they are going to try and get back on board with the PBA after the first of the year, maybe. Being on their staff though actually hurt me cause there are 3 regionals this month that I now can't bowl because I don't have any other equipment. I can't afford to go out and buy a bunch of new balls right now, so I've been trolling these boards looking for other stuff to get via trade.

If you throw other compines gear, doesnt that hurt your contact with L&L ?

Reason I ask is my old local proshop owner was on L&L staff and I was asking him about throwing other gear and he said that if he was "caught" then he would forfit his contract and have to pay back money for the balls he got while on staff ?

Any truth in this ?
