Buzz seems to be for when the pattern breaks down and to "open the lanes" with while the KONG, with it's Super Carbon particle cover and core, will help smooth the ball's reaction down a bit if the reaction gets a bit "jumpy", while giving you good length and a sweet backend.
Layout options ??? Can't help ya there, but Galen can ...

Hope this helps ...

"HoG",
I got a used KONG off eBay and was able to use the existing layout after plugging and reslugging the thumbhole; it works very well for me when I hit broken down patterns (when the pattern is spotty or polished stuff is jumpy and I want to smoooth out my ball reaction); here is mine and it's layout:

2 3/4" pin (above and right of the ring), cg stacked, 1000 abralon, small WH

Definitely ... just remember that you layout should compliment the other balls and not overlap as to how they perform.
