Smooth Rolling medium-heavy oil particle?
« on: January 10, 2007, 02:13:28 PM »
Im considering buying a L/LM ball to see what the company has to offer, but im having trouble picking a ball.

The 3 on my mind right now are the black pearl, yeah baby, & the new standard 2.

Can someone give me some sort of break down as to how these balls roll.  The website shows all 3 doing basically the same thing, within 1 board of eachother on the entire ball chart.

Also, im moving down to 14lbs(wrist problem) & i was wondering how the different balls work with lighter weights.  Being that L/LM uses 11lbs of coverstock, does the weightblock really do much, especially on a 14lber??

Any & all help is appreciated.

Shawn

The smoothest rolling med heavy, IMHO, is the World Class particle. The BP is VERY angular and I've never thrown the other two.

I may be wrong, but I think you would want to look at the World Class Particle. I throw a 14# one and it hits like a 15# ball. Charlest or Robb can better tell you what to get better than I can. I just know what works for me.

FWIW and IMHO, the WC particle, NS2, & AP2 SHOULD fit the bill for you based upon what you have described; and from what I understand, rolling a 14 pounder won't make a difference in the hitting or carry with these "L/LM" balls.
The link below has some great info and technical specs on their equipment, as well as contact info for Legends/Lane Masters (Galen Gentry is their main technical "guru"):

I'll throw my hand in and suggest the World Class Particle as well.  Mine is very smooth and works wonders on medium/heavy conditions.

Different topic.
Anyone with a Black Pearl drilled up a second one?
I'm think about getting a second one with a different layout and tweak the surface.
